Contract manufacturers take care of manufacturing
Eltomation has several decades of experience in the development of production lines for wood wool cement boards. The company, which employs about 20 people, does not have a factory of its own and leaves manufacturing operations to trusted subcontractors. “In the selection of a contract manufacturer, the main criterion is that the manufacturer can collect all the required parts at its facility and take care of the assembly process,” explains Aart van den Brink, a project manager at Eltomation.
Experience ensures smooth production
According to Van den Brink, having the same manufacturer work repeatedly with certain machines is beneficial because it allows the utilization of previous experience. Makron has acted as Eltomation’s contract manufacturer since the early 2000s, and the companies have worked together on the current projects since 2020. During the collaboration, Makron has made presses, saws, mold handling devices and conveyors for wood wool cement board production lines. Makron is responsible for the assembly and electrification, and the finished machines are fully tested at Makron Estonia’s factory.
High-quality boards are in high demand
Wood wool cement boards produced on Eltomation’s production lines make a healthy building material because they are made from natural materials – wood and cement. The products offer outstanding properties in the roof and wall structures of public buildings where high resistance to humidity and fire and good thermal and sound proofing are required. Eltomation’s lines can also be used to make acoustical panels for interior design applications when drying and finishing lines are added to the production lines. To meet the increased demand for the products, the machines must operate in a reliable manner.
Striving to develop its machine in connection with each project, Eltomation improves the machines’ design details on the basis of the observed needs of their users. As technology advances, individual machines are sometimes redesigned from scratch. As Eltomation is one of a kind as a wood wool cement board production line supplier, it has no direct competition.
Makron’s factory receives high praise
“I’m extremely happy with our collaboration with Makron,” states Aart van den Brink, adding: “Makron welding seams are always straight and dimensionally accurate. Their production operations are well organized as all the parts required for the assembly are made or procured in a timely manner. Makron’s fitters and electricians are skilled and know their work. The machines are always completed on schedule.”
Aart van den Brink also praises the factory for the warm welcome given to Eltomation’s staff, as Makron’s team is always willing to help out and answer any questions. He points out: “We always feel welcome here at the factory, and we can also invite our clients here to observe the machines being test run.” In light of these comments, it is safe to say that the close collaboration between Eltomation and Makron will continue.
