Makron, a provider of industrial machine solutions and modernizations, has acquired the technologies and product rights of Ferroplan, which recently filed for bankruptcy. To ensure the transfer of expertise, Makron has hired several professionals who previously worked in Ferroplan’s sales, design, and project management teams, all of whom have extensive experience in conveyor solutions.
The acquisition of conveyor technologies aligns perfectly with Makron’s strategic goals. Makron delivers machine solutions where conveyors play an integral role, and its strong automation and software expertise further enhances these solutions. Makron’s machine manufacturing unit, located near Tallinn, Estonia, has been operating for 27 years and will be responsible for producing the conveyor systems going forward.
“It was important to us to safeguard the continuity of the customer and product expertise that Ferroplan built over decades. That’s why we’ve hired professionals who previously worked at the company whose know-how is essential for executing customer projects and ramping up the business,” says Johanna Vuopala, CEO of Makron Group.
The new business operations will be carried out under a newly established company, Makron Technology. This new venture is expected to increase Makron’s revenue by approximately €10 million, bringing the Group’s total revenue to around €30 million.
“This marks a logical continuation of Makron’s development and a great growth opportunity for us as a partner in industrial solutions. With this comprehensive solution, we are better equipped to meet future customer needs,” Vuopala says.
